Story of Manpa Roat

ManpaRoat is a 32 years old woman living with her parents, husband and two children in Talaphala village of Dungarpur block. The family is in possession of small cultivable land and also leases inland for cultivation every year. She works as Community Mobilizer(CM) in Parvati SHG which for her acts as an alternative source of livelihood.

Manpa joined Parvati SHG, in 2014 and since then she became an active member of the group, now she is leading one Village Organisation(VO). She is being recognised for her hard work as well as good social behaviour in the village. In Jan 2018, A team from Durga Energy has visited her village to attend a SHG meeting and informed to the SHG members of the 24x7 solar home powering system. SHG members of the SHG got clarification and understanding on all aspects of solar home powering system and how it could result in improvement on their quality of life (health, livelihoods, education, women comfort, and communication). Process guidelines were also shared in the meeting on how one can avail 24x7 solar home powering system.

ManpaRoat showed keen interest in adopting the 24x7 solar home powering system. Earlier the family was totally dependent on grid connection for electricity. They always used to have lots of issues and problems on monthly electricity bill, used to end up spend on an average INR 450-500/- as monthly electricity bill, often the electricity bill was more than INR 500/-. Dealing with the above mentioned problems ManpaRoat was fed up of the grid connection as it was highly unreliable and was of the view that given an alternative to grid connection they will happily adopt the technology.

                                                                                             

The search for ManpaRoat to look for alternative to unreliable grid connection was over in that SHG member when she came to know about 24x7 solar home powering system. She adopted the technology and her family is really impress with Durga Energy’s 24x7 solar home powering system. She spent no time in unsubscribe the grid connection from her home after installing the 24x7 solar light. The 24x7 solar power home system installed in her home is 100W module, 12 V Li- ion battery, five nos. of 5W DC bulb, one advance charge controller with two mobile charging outputs and she paid the amount in two instalments as pre and post installation INR 1000/ and INR 8990/ respectively.
